A Short Introduction
Well, hello there.
After many years of going back and forth about starting a blog, I have finally decided to. This might have something to do with the impending deadline of my MA dissertation hanging over my head, but I would like to think it's something else.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Jess (as you might be able to tell from the large floral banner looming over the page) and I am currently completing my Masters in Cultural Heritage Management. It's a really varied (and brilliant) course, that I'm sad to see coming to an end. I have a pretty varied selection of interests, obviously including heritage and art, but also theatre, photography, music, film and television.
This summer means that I've reached that slightly scary time, where I have to decide what comes next. I've been in education non-stop without a gap-year or break for employment before continuing with a postgraduate course, although I have done my fair share of working in events and catering! I want to take everything that I have learnt, both in education and outside of it, and begin a career in the museums sector, working with archaeological and art collections.
This blog will act as a place to document that journey (uhoh, I've used the word journey now, there's no going back!) whilst sharing my thoughts about cultural heritage. So, welcome to my little corner of the internet. This blog will, I hope, be my attempt at sorting out all the thoughts I have in my head about heritage and arts, and probably a lot more besides.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back soon.
Jess
